The Leesburg Rotary Club is a global movement of volunteers whose mission is to provide individual friendships to people with intellectual developmental difficulties of 26%. This organization contributes to supporting and strengthening the citizens of Alexandria with iodine deficiency problems, and also supports 90 young people attending high school and 2 elementary schools. Programs and activities that involve young people up to 30 years old in their community and in service projects that encourage their interest in Rotary are offered. On Saturday, December 17, the Leesburg Rotary Club will participate in Wreaths Across America. Teacher Karen Hampton welcomes veterans from the Leesburg Rotary Club during the annual visit to the second grade class. Seventeen members of his family from the Leesburg Rotary Club joined Marshall's family and other friends in celebrating his life at Purcellville Baptist Church on Sunday, where Phil Rusciolelli led VFW members to greet and honor his fellow veterans. The master of ceremonies and elected president of the Leesburg Rotary Club, Chuck Reavis, opened the tribute with a sincere and humorous vision of Dr. Kent Knowles, introducing falconry and two magnificent feathered friends to members of the Leesburg Rotary Club. Marshall joined Rotary in 1945 and was active in both the Rotary Club of Miami, including as president, and in the Rotary Club of Leesburg. District Foundation President Chuck Davidson, Sandy Duckworth and her husband Don joined the club for a night of education and celebration about the many things the Rotary Foundation has done around the world, from fighting polio to providing clean water and supporting many District initiatives. A private dinner was a coveted auction item at the annual Sticky Wickets croquet tournament and lawn party at the Leesburg Rotary Club last spring.
Ron Rust, with the support of his wife Judy Kozacik, took members of the Rotary Club of Leesburg on a virtual tour of Antarctica at the club meeting on June 19. Richard (Rich) Jollon's classification talk allowed members of the Leesburg Rotary Club to take a look at his life and career.
