Our club activities in this area of service include ...

• Venture Crew, Boy Scout Troop 698 and Cub Scout Pack 698 in Burke -
  Burke Rotary continues to support the Boy Scout Troop, Cub Pack as we have in the past. This year we sponsored the newly established Venture Crew. The Venture Crew is associated with the BSA Troop and is open to young men and women ages 18-20 thus continuing to foster the high ideals and principles of Scouting to this maturing group of young men and women. The Burke Club provided monetary support this year providing camperships to three Boy Scouts underwriting their summer camp expenses. These three scouts would not have had the opportunity to experience the BSA summer camp without this funding. • Community involvement included sponsorship of a spring dance held at Robinson Secondary School for the Partner's Club. This school sanctioned club, assists students with autism and developmental delays in their interaction with other students by way of inclusion into social events such as the Spring Dance. Further, the contact made with student representatives (this years club president and the incoming president for 2004-2005) will serve to have the sponsorship of this school activity continue to provide outreach and inclusion of students with disabilities into the general school student body.
